Real Madrid star Vinicius JuniorThe Brazilian, who was once again subjected to racist abuse on Sunday, said the Spanish league “now belongs to the racists”.

The most recent mistreatment came when Real Madrid lost 1-0 to Valencia. The match had to be temporarily stopped after the Brazilian striker said he was insulted by a fan behind one of the goals at the Mestalla Stadium.

“It wasn’t the first time, it wasn’t the second or the third. Racism is commonplace in La Liga. “He thinks competition is normal, as the federation does, and competitors encourage it,” Vinícius said on Instagram and Twitter.

“The league that used to be Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano (Ronaldo) and (Lionel) Messi is now racists… But I am strong and I will fight racists to the end. Even if it’s far from here.”

The 22-year-old Black Vinícius has been subjected to racial abuse since moving to Spain five years ago.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti considered changing the star after Vinícius said fans at Mestalla were shouting “monkey” slogans at him. He said that Vinícius initially did not want to continue playing.

“What happened today should not have happened,” Ancelotti said. “If the stadium yells at a player ‘monkey’ and the manager thinks about kicking him off the field, something bad is going on in this league.”

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Monday condemned the insults against Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior during the Spanish League match in Valencia and demanded action against “fascism and racism” in stadiums.

“He was attacked. He was called a monkey,” Lula said angrily at a press conference in Hiroshima (Japan) after a G7 summit he was invited to.

He used the phrase “solidarity” about the Brazilian striker, who said: “It is not possible to have such strong racial prejudices in so many football stadiums in the mid-21st century.”

The senior coach refused to talk about the game after what happened, saying that his team’s defeat meant nothing.

“The game should have been stopped.

Ancelotti said that he asked the referee to stop the match, but after the protocol was first announced to the fans, he was told that if the problem persists, another action should be taken.

Ancelotti said that Vinícius did not want to continue playing but told the player that it was not his fault and that he was the victim. Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said he would have left the field with Vinicius if his teammate had stopped playing.

“Vinícius is sad, but more sad than sorry,” Ancelotti said.

According to reports in the Spanish press, Valencia identified two fans behind one of the goals, who allegedly insulted Vinícius.

Some comments on social media claimed that fans uttered the Spanish word “tonto” (nonsense) instead of “mono” (monkey).

Valencia later said it expected Ancelotti to apologize to Valencia fans for accusing them of racism after misunderstanding what was said. In a press conference, the coach said that if the referee did not think that there was racism in the stadium, he would not have started the racism protocol.

Vinícius was later sent off after an argument with Valencia players and, as he left the pitch, signaled to the home fans about their team’s fight against relegation. Valencia took a big step to avoid the relegation by opening a five-point lead with the last three teams in the last three rounds with a 1-0 win.

“The reward for the racists was my expulsion!” “This is not football, this is LaLiga,” Vinícius wrote on Instagram along with the slogan of the Spanish league.

Around the 70th minute, Vinícius called the referee and started pointing at a person sitting among Valencia fans. While the player approached the stands and faced the fans, the players of both teams tried to maintain the calm.

The police came to the stands to deal with the fans. An announcement was made asking fans to be cautious.

The match at Mestalla stopped for about seven minutes, and shortly after it resumed, Vinícius clashed with Valencia players and was sent off for pressing one of his opponents in the face with his hand.
